Gack
Yes, I know this doesn't look much like the beginning of the Yarn Tour Notes 2007, but we've had some setbacks! We locked 0urselves out of the house last night and this morning we learned that our car needs a new clutch which should only set us back around $1400 or so!
Sigh.
The cats seem to have forgiven us. Dorian seemed a bit confused by the whole thing, but has since spent the last couple of days ignoring us from short distances. Lulu is obviously relieved that things are back to normal. Marlowe is purring constantly and following us around, and the first night back he dragged half of his toys into our room in case we wanted to play with him. Meiko has spent the last few nights waking us up three times a night for cuddles and reassurance.
Sigh.

Awww, your babies missed you.
Gack indeed! Woe, the clutch.
:(
I know that locked out of the house feeling, waiting for DH to come home on a 5 degree night... As for the clutch, well I guess it isn't the gearbox but like great timing!
Nutmeg recognised us immediately, despite us having multiple bags draped around us. Cheshire ran and hid from the evil big lumpy monsters 8-)
Ouch re: the car. That's not the kind of welcome home you want after a vacation.
Here's hoping that things settle back down for you.
No, not the clutch! I hate car problems.
Aw, the kitties missed you.
Glad you got to visit Carrie and eat at Spengers! Sorry to hear about the expensive car repairs on the heels of a lovely holiday.
Ouch about your clutch. We have to put the car in the garage next month and I noticed a bit of a leak - eep!
Ahoy, wandered over from Crazy Aunt Purl.
Look fwd to reading about your trip.
I have a cat named Marlowe, too. Tell me, did you get him as a kitten......(yep, that was me, naming the cat "Kit" Marlowe.....).
Bad car! It always seems to happen right after a nice vacation.
I used to lock myself out of cars and houses with such staggering regularity that for awhile, everyone had a set of keys to my house/car. But if you don't do it often.......you're just not prepared. ;)
Dorian's way of dealing with your return is cracking me up - ignoring you from short distances.
Anyway, welcome home again! Generally it takes one to two days per day on vacation to recuperate.
The catchen love you! In their ways.... I too love the ignoring from a short distance away!
The car! The lockout! Aghgglglgl.
